Bali Airport on delays issues

According to Bali Indonesia report stated that most of the customs officials have pulled the plug on biometric checks of foreign nationals arriving at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. Thus a continuation from the long overdue queues that considered as the start of losing revenues.

Suspended on May 2 on the orders of Justice and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar is the Border Control Management system. “We don’t know if it will be revived later,” Ngurah Rai Immigration Office administrative head Wilopo said on Tuesday.

Wilopo added the this new process and system that has been introduced last April 22 only takes 30 seconds longer however he added that one the tourists comes on a daily basis of up to 5,000, the accrued delays had forced many to wait in line for hours.

“I once had guests whose flight landed at 11 p.m. but who did not leave the airport until 3 a.m.,” tour guide Putu Sumatika said. In related to the report the announcement that has been released a day after Japan Airlines stated that it might cancel the routes of flights to Bali by Oct. 1. The end of the twice-daily flights from Japan is likely to cost the airport management Rp 150 million ($16,500) a day.

According to Heru Legowo, general manager of airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, announced that he had predicted the system would spell trouble.
